Communication is a fascinating, complex process and that means that there are lots of things that can go wrong; so it's understandable that some children have difficulties with their speech and language, or just with starting to communicate with those around them.
Each child is different and so the things that make speech, language and communication difficult for them are different too. My role is to assess a child and find out what they need in order to progress. I can then work with a child alongside their families, schools and nurseries in order to help them to meet their full potential.

I am an experienced Speech and Language Therapist and have been working as an independent therapist for over 6 years. I love working to make speech therapy fun and supporting speech and language development through play.
I am based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire and cover surrounding areas but I am more than happy to travel.

What is a Speech Therapist?

What I offer:
I support children aged 2-10 who are having difficulties with their speech, language and communication. This may include:

Concerns around early communication skills including first words

Motor speech difficulties (including developmental verbal dyspraxia)

Phonology (not using the right sounds in words)

Attention, listening and concentration difficulties

Unclear speech (including articulating sounds inaccurately)

Receptive language (difficulties understanding or processing instructions)

Expressive language (putting together sentences)

Social communication (social skills and interaction with others)

Semantics (understanding words and their meanings)

Autistic children, or children who are going through the process of a diagnosis of autism

Children with a diagnosis of a learning disability
I offer assessments, therapy (face to face or via teletherapy), reports and bespoke training. I can carry out therapy sessions at home, nursery or school.
